He uncovers an extortion plot, and with the help of Smith Ballew, foils   the plans. There is a great bar-room scene in the film where Gehrig   launches billiard balls at the bad guys. Gehrig was lauded for his   performance, and many at the time thought he had a shot at an acting   career.
